Theodore Edgar "Ted" Lansberry, 87, a resident of Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of Clearfield, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the nursing center.
Born Dec. 16, 1925, at Clearfield, he was a son of Earl Edgar and Mable V. (Ball) Lansberry.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield.
He was retired from Harbison-Walker Refractories in Clearfield, after 20 years of service as a dry press operator.
Mr. Lansberry was a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific Theatre.
He was a former member of Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6, Frenchville Veterans of Foreign Wars Leigey-Renaud Post No. 8386, Clearfield Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 97 and Clearfield International Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812.
Surviving are a niece and three nephews, Jackie Day and husband, Bob E., Merle "Sid" Lansberry and wife, Anita, and David Lansberry and wife, Vickie, all of Clearfield, and Dean Lansberry and wife, Linda, of Curwensville; as well as several cousins.
Mr. Lansberry was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Nada Lee; and a brother, Donald Lansberry.
He was the last member of his generation.
At the request of Mr. Lansberry, there will be no public visitation and services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be at Hill Crest Cemetery, Clearfield.
