OROVILLE MERCURY, Tuesday Evening, August 6, 1901: "Funeral of Abraham Sligar. The funeral of the late Abraham Sligar took place today from the residence of Mrs. W. W. Wills on Bird street. Rev. Shelton, pastor of the M. E. church preached the funeral sermon. A large number of friends were present and all the brothers and sisters of deceased were present except Joseph Sligar, who is at Richardson Springs and could not be reached in time. Those present were John and Jas. Sligar and Mrs. W. A. Walker of Biggs, Richard Sligar of Gridley, Mrs. Delia Voorhees and Mrs. Will of Oroville. The deceased leaves a wife and a son aged about ten years."
