Item which appeared in The Mountain Air newspaper in St Paul on December 15, 1894 (weekly newspaper) concerning the death of Julia Ann Smith Rash, mother of Myrtle Rash Curtis. "Mrs. Rash died very suddenly last Friday night. The funeral was held Sunday. She leaves five children." Newspaper item courtesy of Madison County Genealogical & Historical Society, P.O. Box 427, Huntsville, AR 72740, by letter to this researcher dated 17 Sept 2012 -- quoting "This is the only mention there is of the death of Mrs. Rash and there is nothing about the death of Mr. Rash. There is no tombstone in Madison County in any cemetery for Mr and Mrs Rash ... I would assume they are buried in a cemetery near St Paul and that their graves are marked only with a fieldstone. If Mr and Mrs Rash were murdered, I think it would have been mentioned in this newspaper, since things like that were usually reported."
