MATILDA NIXON

HINDSBORO — Mrs. Matilda Nixon, 81, of Hindsboro died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday (May 1, 1982) in Jarman Hospital, Tuscola.

The funeral was scheduled at 1:30 p.m. today in Taber Funeral Home, Oakland, with burial in Arcola Cemetery.

Mrs. Nixon was born July 19, 1900, in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., a daughter of Silas and Elizabeth Parkhurst West. She was married to Birt Nixon on Dec. 30, 1923, in Red Boiling Springs. He preceded her in death in 1972.

Surviving are a son, Dan, of Batavia; two daughters, Mrs. Russel (Wilma) Sylvester of Elwood and Mrs. H. Edmund (Dorothy) Foster of Decatur; four sisters, Mrs. Ina Moulder of Neoga, Mrs. Ruth Dean of Mattoon, Mrs. Odelle Thompson of Portland, Tenn., and Mrs. Josephine Unger of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nixon was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Red Boiling Springs.
