Gerald Dunn's brother dies; rites Tuesday
CENTRALIA, Ill. — Merrill T. Dunn, formerly of Douglas County, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday in his home at 1227 S. Lincoln, Centralia. He had been ill for several months.
Mr. Dunn was the brother of Gerald Dunn of Mattoon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Luer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Arcola Township Memorial Cemetery, Arcola, where graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today and until service time Tuesday.
Mr. Dunn was born in Bowling Green, Ky., the son of William Thomas and Annie L. Anderson Dunn. He was married to Martha Jane Cox, who survives.
Other survivors include one son, James S. Dunn of St. Francisville, Ill.; one daughter, Deborah Jayne, at home; three brothers, Gerald of Mattoon, Carroll of Redmon, and Estil of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Alvera Wilson, Frankford, Ind. and Sue Thompson of Hemet, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Mr. Dunn was a retired Centralia school administrator. He had been associated with the Centralia school system since 1950. Prior to that he had lived in Kansas City, Mo. and Flint, Mich. where he worked as a radio announcer and in Sparland, Ill. where he was a teacher and coach.
