She was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late Otho Donovan and Ollie Virginia Lawson Boyers.
She worked in the housekeeping department at Sunnyside Presbyterian Nursing Home. Frances loved working in her flower garden, knitting and sewing. She was a wonderful homemaker.
She was united in marriage on Jan. 29, 1932, to Paul Britton Carrier, who died on Dec. 11, 2000.
She is survived by two brothers, Warren C. Boyers, Sr. of Bridgewater, and Gratten Boyers of Pennsylvania; four sisters, Janet Blosser of Pennsylvania, Mildred Davis of Lacey Springs, Agnes Smith of Harrisonburg, and Maxine Thomas of Harrisonburg. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul B. Carrier, Jr., two brothers, Harry Boyers, Sr. and Otho Donovan Boyers, Jr.
A funeral service will be conducted at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel, Bridgewater, on Saturday, June 30, 2001, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gale H. Younkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Lacey Spring Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Service, Inc.
