CORNELIUS BOOKER

Cornelius "Gum" Booker -- He was a member of Levi First Missionary Baptist Church, Rand.
He retired from Valley Camp Coal Co. after 30 years of service and later retired from C&O Railway after 16 years.
Gum, an Army veteran of World War II, was an avid HAM radio operator, K8DQ.
Left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 54 years, Edith Craighead Booker; one daughter, Yvonne Berkley of Rand; two sons, Rodney of Cross Lanes, Larry of Rand; faithful and loving daughter-in-law, Millie Booker; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Levi First Missionary Baptist Church, Rand, with the Rev. Ben Merchant officiating.
Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, immediately after the service.
