About 1874, the French Canadians were promised free land, so many families left the Kankakee area and moved to Clay and Cloud Counties of Kansas. Eli and Eliza were among this group. Eliza continued to live in that area after the death of her husband in 1892. In 1906, she moved to Garden City, Kansas with her daughter and son-in-law, Malinda and Edward Carry Dufrin, where she lived the remainder of her life.
Six children were born to the marriage of Eli and Eliza Landry; Malinda Dufrin, George Landry, Angelina Roy, Rosella Geist, Della Eversoll and Benjamin Eli Landry.
On 25 Sep 1920, Eliza married Louis Albert Caraveau in Garden City, Finney County, Kansas.
Funeral services for Eliza were held on 11 March 1931 at Garnand's Funeral Home in Garden City. The Rev. R. B. Twitty officiated.
