An obituary in the Eddyville Tribune on October 9, 1930 gives the following: "Mrs. Molisia Nicholson, 1320 State Street, Bettendorf, Iowa, died at her home Monday morning after an extended illness. Molisia Watkins was born April 11, 1856 in Eddyville, Wapello county, Iowa, and received her education in the schools of that district. She was married March 25, 1875 to Van Dorn Nicholson. They made their home in Monroe County, Iowa, until a year and a half ago when they moved to Bettendorf. Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, William Nicholson, of Aurora, Ill., John Nicholson, of Bettendorf and George Nicholson of Gerard, Ill; two daughters, Mrs. Earl Utterback, of Bettendorf and Mrs. Mabel Gray of Rexfield; one sister, Mrs. C. Carter of Lovilia; 4 brothers, Dick Watkins of Fredric, Eph, J. H. and William; all of Eddyville. There are also thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. The body was brought to the home of her brother, Eph Watkins here on Tuesday Sept. 30 where short funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon. Interment was made in Highland cemetery."
