James T. Raifsnider, 83, of Lake Whitney passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Whitney. He was born April 7, 1930 in Acton to Rush and Allie Pribble Raifsnider. He married Ardith Jean Starr on March 15, 1953 in Anchorage, Alaska.

Mr. Raifsnider served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a supervisor retiring in 1992 with more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, gardening and fishing with his grandkids. James was very active, even until his last days. He was a generous, giving man with a good sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ardith Raifsnider; daughters, Susan West, Kathy Robinson and Becky Peterson; eight grand sons; one grand daughter; 12 great grand children; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Cliff Raifsnider; and sisters, Christine, Clarise and Margaret.

Graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in Godley Cemetery.
