1947: Obituary in Elk Horn - Kimballton Review Thursday January 30, 1947 Vol ?? No. 42 "Postpone Services for Miss Jorgensen: Former Phone Company Employee Died Tuesday at Kimballton: Agnes Hedevig Jorgensen died Tuesday at the family home in Kimballton. She had been ailing for the past two years.

She was born in Kimballton August 17, 1895, the daughter of Hans J. and Katherine Jorgensen. She was baptized and confirmed in the local church and graduated from the Kimballton schools.

She stayed with her mother until the latter's death and then went to work for the Marne and Elk Horn Telephone Co. at the Kimballton exchange. After working for 15 years, she was forced to resign two years ago because of failing health.

Although unable to do much work, Miss Jorgensen was able to be up and around and continued here life-long task of serving and aiding others first.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Leona Brodersen of Kimballton, Mrs. Cecelia James of Elk Horn, and Mrs. Nettie Thomsen of Glendale, Calif., two brothers, Dr. J. P. Jorgensen of Elk Horn and Wm. Jorgensen of Kimballton, 12 nieces, 14 nephews and several cousins. Her parents, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 1:30 o-clock and at 2 o'clock at the Kimballton Lutheran Church. Rev. Harald Ibsen will officiate. Interment will be in Elk Horn Lutheran cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Paul E. James of Audubon, Dr. Ernest James of Atlantic and Folmer James of Atlantic, Ed Rasmussen of Kimballton, Bruce Thomsen of Elk Horn and John Garber of Audubon.
