Per Tennessee Marriage Records 1780-2002, Miss Sumpter married archibald Cline on April 20, 1843 in Knox County, Tennessee. He was the son of John and Mary Miltibarger Cline, grandson of Revolutionary War Patriot, Jacob Kline. [Reference DAR GRS at dar.org. the DAR designated Kline Ancestor #: A065989 in honor of his service in the German Regiment of the Continental Troops of Pennsylvania]

Archibald and Elvira Cline were the parents of several children:
