Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Leanna "Lee" Bonin, age 74, the former Leanna Begnaud, who passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Bonin was a native and resident of Arnaudville for most of her life. She was employed with St. Luke's Hospital in Arnaudville as an LPN, for Dr. John Fruge in Sunset and retired with 18 years of service with Amelia Manor Nursing Home in Lafayette. Mrs. Bonin was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Aymar "Pip" Bonin of Arnaudville; one son, Ricky Bonin and his wife, Caroline, of Broussard; two daughters, Kimberly B. Taylor and her husband, Bernard, of Lafayette and Joni B. Cormier and her husband, Kent, of Scott; and five grandchildren, Ryan Bonin, Brooke B. Richard and her husband, Jon, and Chance Taylor, all of Lafayette, Cameron Cormier and Nicholas Cormier, both of Scott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norris Begnaud and the former Hazel Bergeron.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Sunday.
