Levina Breas was born on September 9, 1841 in Colijnsplaat, Zeeland, Netherlands. She was the daughter of Adriaan Breas (1818-1857) and Elisabeth Heystek (1814-1897). She married Adriaan Merizon (spelled Adrian after immigrating) on August 22, 1861, in Colijnsplaat NL. Adriaan was a seaman and canal boat skipper. The family immigrated to the USA in 1888. She died in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 19, 1905, at the age of 62.
