*Brig. Gen. John Louis Ready (1895–1955) Joseph entered the Army in 1917, served with the U.S. Forces in Tientsin, China. For five years he was professor of military science at the University of Maine, Orono, Maine where he met his wife. He was the assistant division commander of the Seventh Infantry Division in World War II, fought in four major Pacific campaigns--Attu and Kiska in the Aleutians, Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshalls, Leyte in the Philippines, and the last battle of the war, Okinawa. He retired with the rank of brigadier general.
*Dorothy Ready O'Callaghan (1899–1993 ) Dorothy married a very successful Boston lawyer, Edmund O'Callaghan, and they raised six children.
