Services for Brig. Gen. Joseph L. Ready, native of Brighton, will be tomorrow at Arlington National Cemetery.

He died Monday at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was 59.

Ready was assistant commander of the famed Seventh Infantry Division during the campaigns of Kiske, Leyte, and Okinawa in World War II, and the first operational commander at Seoul, Korea.

He retired in 1950 and for the past two years has made his home in St. Peterburg. He formerly lived in Oakland, Me.

He leaves his wife; a son, two daughters, a brother, and two sisters.
