Irene Jackson Waugh, 89, of St. Marys, died June 20, 1997, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Waugh worked at the former A.H. Stanley Co. for 25 years and was active in Pleasants County Democratic Party. She was a member of St. Marys Chapter 31 Order of Eastern Star and St. Marys Presbyterian Church. She was born in Pickens, Upshur County, a daughter of the late Irvin and Emily Satterfield Jackson. She is survived by one daughter, Betty Barkley of Niceville, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Barkley and Keith Barkley, both of Niceville, Robert Lee Barkley of Pensacola, Fla., Melissa Maston of Barryville, N.Y., Thomas Maston of Atlanta, GA., Patrick Maston and Jack Waugh, both of Parkersburg, and Stephanie Gorrell of St. Marys; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Jack Waugh; one daughter, Glenna Maston; one grandson, Richard Maston; four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Ruttencutter Funeral Home, St. Marys, with the Rev. Paul Van Horn officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6:30-9 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday with Eastern Star services at 6:30 p.m. today.
