William A. Tittle was born in 1853 in Washington County, Tennessee, the son of John H. Tittle (1831-unknown) and Emily Huskins Tittle (1836-unknown). He was married to Laura M. Allen (1849-1894) on 14 March 1875 in Waynesville, North Carolina. They had four children: Emily (Emma) (1876-1967), John Henry (1878-1950), Lydia C. (1881-1967), and Frank Wesley (1885-1955). William's date of death is unknown to us at this time, though it was likely before 1900, as their youngest daughter Lydia was listed as "adopted" (at age 18) by her late mother's brother, William H. Allen (1853-1933) & his wife Malissa Farmer Allen (1847-1926) in the 1900 census.
