Florence-- The funeral of Joseph Lemere, formerly of Florence, who died at Prescott, Wash., on April 24, 1929 was held Tuesday afternoon with services in the First Presbyterian church, with the Rev. R.L. Kinkade, pastor of the church, in charge. Mr Lemere had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Blanche Hardy, in Prescott, who accompanied the body to Florence.
Mr. Lamere had lived in Florence for many years, leaving here after the death of his wife several years ago to make his home with his children. He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Hardy, Mrs. George Kitchen, of Green Bay, Mrs. Winnie Fitzgerald, of Detroit, Mrs. Grace Christensen, of Detroit, Mrs. Berquist, of Iron River, Mrs. Fred Pelke, of Iron Mountain, one step daughter, Mrs. A.L.Richards, of Alpha, and one son, Fred Lemere.
These were all in attendance at the funeral, as well as Mr. and Mrs. George Premo, of Amasa, Mr. Premo being Mr. Lemere's half brother. Mr. Lemere was 76 years of age. The pallbearers were Richard Peterson, C.R. Hanson, John Anderson, August Luckow, James Pontbriand and James Doyle, and interment was in the Commonwealth cemetery. A group of Marinette relatives attended the funeral.
