PILOT MOUNTAIN, NC (Westfield Community) ~ Mr. Robert Lee Moorefield Sr., age 75, of Inman Road, Pilot Mountain, died Saturday, February 21, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was born February 5, 1934, in Stokes County to the late William Robert & Martha Collins Moorefield.
Mr. Moorefield was a farmer and a member of Tru-Way Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon for 37 years.
He was married to his beloved wife, Peggy, for 57 years.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy King Moorefield of the home; daughter & son-in-law, Sandy & husband, John Welfare, of Charlotte, NC; sons & daughters-in-law: Robert Moorefield Jr., & wife, Shirley, of Westfield, NC, Ken & wife, Martha Moorefield, of Advance, NC; sisters & brothers-in-law: Helen Durham of Westfield, NC, Shirley & husband, Robert Shelton, of Moore Springs, NC, Pete & husband, Roy Mickey, of Westfield, NC; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Tru-Way Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Darrell Price & the Rev. Rickey Rogers with interment to follow in the Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 23, from 7 - 9 p.m. at Tru-Way Baptist Church.
Mr. Moorefield will be placed in the church at 5:30 p.m. today.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
