Wilbert "Willie" Bier, 87, Mandan, passed away on August 27, 2013 in a Bismarck hospital. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Mandan, with Pastor Ryan Wolfe officiating. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
No visitation will be held as cremation has taken place.
Willie was born on September 25, 1925 to Christian and Elizabeth (Zeeb) Bier in Wishek, ND.
Willie married the love of his life, Alma Mittelsteadt on August 12, 1946 in Glendive, MT. They moved to Mandan and together they were blessed with three children.
Willie is survived by his wife Alma, one son, Jerry (Deb Cochrane) of Mandan, two daughters, Sharon Muriel of Bismarck, and Nancy (T-Bird) Zander of Center, nine grandchildren and ninegreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, John, Carl, Adam, Art, Christ, and Edward Bier and four sisters, Pauline Mulske, Christine Bauer, Amanda Kottsick and Ann Johnson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund.
