Jackie Sharum, was born August 29, 1929 in Carter, Oklahoma to Jessie and Allen Embry. She passed away May 27, 2009 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 28 days.
Jackie was raised in Carter and lived her life in Beckham County. In 1950, Jackie married Lee Sharum and they moved to Sayre. She was a homemaker and raised her family until 1971, when she began her career at Hensley Nursing Home. She remained there until her health forced her to retire after 38 years of services. She loved taking pictures and collecting them. She loved to travel and never met a stranger.
She is survived by her three daughters, Leann Welk and husband, Bob, Debbie Sharum, and Kay Roper, all of Sayre, OK; two sons Zane Sharum and wife, Joy Sayre, OK, Ray Sharum and wife, Rhonda Sayre, OK; 11 grandchildren, Bert Spears and wife, Chelle, Robby Welk, and Josh Welk and special friend Vanessa Sheffield, Gage Sharum, Madison Sharum, Cody Sharum, Stephen Sharum, Hunter Sharum and Cortnie Copenhaver, Chelsie Copenhaver, Summer and Aaron Neal, and Brody RIce, 6, great grandchildren, Jaren, Alexus, Haelle and Becca, Emilee and Sylar. Three nieces, Susan Cosmo and husband, Andy, Chris Parrett and husband, Jim, Peggy Alverez Jr.; 2 nephews, Mike Embry and wife, Helen and Robert Embry; 2 sister-in-law, Lilo Embry; and Betty Jo Embry and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Junior, Maurice and Steve Embry, a grandson, Justin Roper, and a special friend, Cecil Harless.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Saturday May 30, 2009, 2:00 PM at Rose Chapel. Interment will be in the Carter Cemtery.
