Dorothy Smith Lewis, 81, of 301 Clark St., died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at the Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Home. She was born in Estill County, Ky., on Sept. 26, 1918, the daughter of Jesse James and Hattie (Rose) Richardson, and lived most of her life in this area. She was a member of the Western Hills Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was married to Elmer Smith for 52 years prior to his death in 1986, and for three years to Bernie Lewis prior to his death in 1992. She is survived by five sons, Marvin Smith of Monroe, N.Y., Kenneth Smith and Douglas Smith, both of Middletown, Roger Smith of Miamisburg and Ricky Smith of Cincinnati; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Edith Dohn, Mildred Godsey and Thelma Lewis; and four brothers, Carris Richardson and Melvin, Earl and Samuel Richardson.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at noon Friday, March 10, at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lawrence Bedner officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery.
