Edith was born Aug. 20, 1916 in Nephi, UT to James Alfred and Josie Ann Memmott Sorensen. She married Albert London (Tony) Dearden, Sept. 1, 1937 in Nephi, Utah. Later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on April 21, 1993. Edith was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. A steadfast member of the LDS Church and a great leader of the youth in the scouting program in the Fillmore 1st Ward and Fillmore Utah Stake. She received her Silver Beaver Award from the Utah National Parks Council in 1982.
She is survived by her husband, Albert; children, A. Errol Dearden; Tony J. (Bonnie) Dearden; Ted E. (Sheri) Dearden, all of Fillmore; Rex L. (Wendy) Dearden, Cincinnati, OH; Lon A. (Sandee) Dearden, Windsor, CA: nephew, Dan (Jennifer) Crites, Blackfoot, ID; 28 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Gowers, Nephi, UT; Nellie Stephensen, Nephi, UT; Beth Curtis, Aurora, UT. Preceded in death by brothers, Boyd, Cleo, Leland Darrell and Thomas Rex; her daughter, JoAnn Dearden and JoAnn's two children.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999 at 11 a.m. in the Fillmore 1st Ward Church. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Mortuary in Fillmore and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Fillmore City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Mortuary Fillmore.
