Mrs. Alice M. Alexander, 76, a Mulberry resident for 38 years, died at 5:50 a.m. last Thursday at her home here. She had suffered a stroke Sunday.
Mrs. Alexander was born Nov. 19, 1873, in Adoms? county, Ill. After living in Corning Kas., she came to Mulberry. Her husband died in 1939. She was a member of the United Brethren church at Corning.
Survivors include nine daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Pottorff of Orrick, Mo., Mrs. Florence Stover of Pittsburg, Mrs. Faye McPheron of Kansas City, Mrs. Edna Lowe, Mrs. Lula Claunch and Mrs. LaVerne Palmer, all of Mulberry, Mrs. Viola Walker of Weir, Mrs. Zella McPheron of Frontenac and Mrs. Velma Lupfer of St. Louis; two sons, Carl Alexander of Mulberry, and Paul Alexander of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; a brother, Ranner Drage of California; three half sisters and three half brothers; 34 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Otis Smith chapel with Rev. W. Danon and Rev. Mae Haskins officiating. Burial was in the Little Osage (Osage Brethren) cemetery near McCune.
