She married John Wesley Himes on November 15, 1877, in Montgomery County, Indiana. Around 1889 they migrated to Marshall County Iowa. They had 12 children during their marriage, of which 10 survived to adulthood. She died on October 2, 1953, in Marshall County, Iowa, at the age of 93, and was buried east of Marshalltowntown in the Iowa River Brethren Church Cemetery.
Her mother Cinderella died during childbirth in 1871 at the age of 34 in the Kansas City area. No official newspaper report or death certificate has been found.
