Harold Arthur Jorgenson, 84, Austin, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Sacred Heart Care Center.
Harold was born Aug. 6, 1916 in Lyle, the son of Theodore and Dora (Nelson) Jorgenson. He was married to Gladys Helfritz on Feb. 23, 1939, at Osage, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed as a cattle buyer, working for Hormel Foods Corp., Spencer Foods and Land-O-Lakes. He also owned and operated Jorgenson Trucking. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and a 50-year member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Gladys, Austin; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Jorgenson, Edgerton, James (Michelle) Jorgenson, Austin; Nathan (Teresa) Jorgenson, Fairmont; daughters and son-in-law, Judy (Paul) Rupert of St. Paul, Anne Jorgenson, Detroit Lakes; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Betty Jorgenson, Austin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lola Lang, Mesa, Ariz., Ione and Ben Lorenz, Penn Valley, Calif., Darlene and Larry Fox, Layton, Utah; nieces and nephews.
Service: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. James I. Mikkelson officiating.
Interment: Six Mile Grove Lutheran Cemetery in Nevada Township.
Visitation: Friend may call at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
