J. P. HEITZ DIES; RITES AT BUTLER CENTER CHURCH
Succumbs After Nine Days' Illness
The death of J. Perry Heitz, 69, a prominent Butler township farmer, took place Saturday morning at 5 o'clock at his home three miles south of Garrett on road 27.
Mr. Heitz was ill only nine days and he became bedfast last Tuesday, lapsing into a coma Wednesday. The cause of death was insular sclerosis.
The final rites will be held at the Butler Center Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The pastor, the Rev. A. L. Wooton, will officiate and interment will be made in Cedar Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Heitz was born in Butler township Aug. 29, 1870, and Ns as lifelong resident of that township. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Heitz. He and Oma Strause of Keyser township, were married Dec. 12, 1906.
She survives, with two children, Miss Amber Heitz and Emory Heitz, both at home; and one brother, Calvin W. Heitz of East Gilead, Mich.
Mr. Heitz was a member of the Butler Center church, the Auburn Knights of Pythias lodge and the Farm Bureau.
The body was prepared at the Geo. W. Iler mortuary and was returned to the residence Saturday evening.
