Ethel "Ethie" DeWenter, 87

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Ethel "Ethie" DeWenter, age 87, who died Tuesday at her home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring and Monday morning from 9 - 10:30 in the narthex of St. Boniface Parish. The Christian Women, Catholic Order of Foresters and Cold Spring Lions will pray at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Ethie DeWenter was born Ethel Wocken on June 13th 1917 and lived her whole life in Cold Spring. She died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, March 22nd. She enjoyed traveling and visiting her children and grandchildren. As recently as Christmas, she spent a month visiting her daughter Judi in Maryland. The smile on her face and laughter in her voice will be missed by all who knew her. She was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Christian Women, Catholic Order of Foresters and Cold Spring Lions.
Survivors include her 6 children, Bob (Pat) in Bemidji, Judi (Dennis) Branger of Lutherville, MD, Donald (Judy) of Georgetown, TX, Jim (Deb) Bemidji, Mary (John) Gregory of Great Falls, MT and Michael (Pauline) of Cold Spring; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother, John Wocken of Grass Valley, CA; sister, Marita Patz of Placentia, CA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roman DeWenter who died January 27, 2000; brothers, Thomas Wocken and Jim Wocken; sisters, Florine Griffin and Connie Bolger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Cloud Hospital Hospice Program or St. Boniface Catholic Church.
