Services will be 1030 am Monday at St Boniface Catholic Church for Roman DeWenter, 88, who died Thursday at Assumption Home, Cold Spring.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 3pm Sunday at Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring. Catholic Order of Foresters, Cold Spring lions and Cold Spring Seniors will pray the rosary at 4:30 p.m., followed by parish prayers at 8 pan.
Roman DeWenter was bom in Sedan to William and Elizabeth (Fuchs) DeWenter. He married Ethel Wocken on June 1, 1937, in St Boniface Catholic Church, Cold Spring. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. He worked at Cold Spring Brewing Company for 54 years, where he started as bookkeeper, was promoted to office manager and ended his career as president He was a member and Minnesota State Chief Ranger of the Catholic Order of Foresters and sold insurance for 50 years. He was a charter member of the Cold Spring Lions and received the highest honor bestowed to a Roman DeWenter Lion, the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts for many years, and a member of the Cold Spring Boosters Club and Cold Spring Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife; children, Robert and Jim of Bemidji, Judi Branger of Baltimore, Don of Wausau, Wis., Mary Gregory of Great Falls, Mont, and Mike of Cold Spring; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Cyril, Norbert, Ida and Marie.
Memorials will be given to a local service project."
