He was born in Calais, Maine, the son of Herbert and Pearl (Stiles) Stanhope.
Mr. Stanhope was a maintenance worker for Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge and an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of International Lodge K. of P.
He is survived by his widow, Olive (Wade) Stanhope; a daughter; brother, Norman Stanhope of Calais; five sisters; two granddaughters and a great-grandson.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Scholl Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Young of the Belfast Methodicst Church officiating. Burial will be in Calais Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
