LINCOLNTON - Mr. James David Abernathy
77, of 680 Victory Grove Church Rd., died May 27, 1996. Funeral is 3 p.m. Thursday at E.F. Drum Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. L.C. Rankin and Rev. Marvin Quarels officiating. Burial will follow service at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Abernathy was born November 22, 1918, in Lincoln County, a son of the late Doph P. Abernathy and Flossie Cashion. He served the US Army Air Corps in WW II. He retired in 1976 as a truck driver for Carolina Freight. He was a member of Victory Grove Tabernacle. He was also a merchant and store owner in the Lincolnton Area.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Leone Williams of the home; 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 granddaughter, 5 brothers, 2 sisters,
