Daily Herald (Provo, UT) - February 12, 2004. Obituary: Ruth Glade Stephensen, age 81, passed away February 10, 2004, in Payson, Utah. She was born July 23, 1922, to William Richard and Zina Ruth Larkin Glade in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was married to Willard Albion Stephensen on December 19, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple by Elder David O. McKay. She graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in food science and nutrition and attended the University of Texas and Tulane Medical Schools. Ruth was an international food consultant, the compiler of two cookbooks and author of three cookbooks, and taught many how to use their food storage. Ruth served as a Girl Scout leader in Venezuela as well as in various church callings in Relief Society, seminary, and as an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple.

She is survived by her children, Margaret S. Dewey, Douglas G. Stephensen, and Karen R. Nelson, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two brothers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 2 brothers. Graveside services will be held on February 13, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. in the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East.
