William Barney (W.B.) Lawrence and Nettie Ann Murray were married on 17 Nov 1886 in DeWitt County, TX. They were living in DeWitt County at the time of the 1900 & 1910 census but apparently moved to the San Marcos area sometime between 1910 and 1913. W.B. died near Round Rock, TX in 1913; one son (Murray) died in WWI in 1918 and is buried in San Marcos; another son (Boyd) died in San Marcos in 1919 and is buried in San Marcos, and his widow was living in San Marcos in 1920. By the time of the 1930 & 1940 census, Nettie had moved to Fort Worth.

W.B. was buried in Epperson-Brown-Jonischkies cemetery in DeWitt Co where his infant son and Nettie's parents were buired. His widow and several other children are buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth and it appears that his family erected a monument stone for W.B. at that cemetery as well, even though he is not actually buried there.

W.B. and Nellie had a total of 11 children:
1. an infant boy (1887-1887) who is buried in the same cemetery as his father
2. Bobo Buford (1888-1975)
3. Nancy Jane (Nannie) (1890-1969)
4. Lewis Merryweather (1892-1966)
5. William Barney (1894-1961)
6. Ada Rae (1896-1988)
7. Murray (1899-1918) - died in WWI
8. Boyd L. (1906-1919) - died from a rattlesnake bite
9. George Van (1908-1998)
10. Nellie (1911-2005)
11. an unknown child apparently born between 1900-1910 -- the 1910 census indicates that two children died before 1910

At the time of the 1900 census, they were living in Pct 4 of DeWitt County:
Barney Lawrence, head, *Jul 1867
Nettie Lawrence, wife, *Apr 1868
Bobo Lawrence, son, *Aug 1887 (birthdate shown as 1 Aug 1888 on his death certificate)
Nancy Lawrence, daughter, *Jun 1889
Louis Lawrence, son, *Aug 1892
Barney Lawrence, son, *Aug 1894
Ada Lawrence, daughter, *Nov 1895
Murray Lawrence, son, *Jan 1899

Nettie is listed as having had 7 children, 6 of whom were still living in 1900. The child who died was an unnamed boy who was born in Jul 1887 and only lived for 9 days. He is buried in the same cemetery as his father. Note that Bobo's date of birth shown on the 1900 census must be incorrect since another child was born in Jul 1887 and Bobo's death certificate shows that he was born on 1 Aug 1888.

At the time of the 1910 census, they were living in Pct 3 of DeWitt County, Dist 41:
W.B. Lawrence, head, 42
Nettie Lawrence, wife, 41
