She was born to Berry and Mary Elzina Hargrove West. She graduated from University of Texas School of Nursing at Galveston and did post graduated work at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She was a member of St. Phillips Episcopal Church, charter member of Dogwood Garden Club and Harvey Woman's Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. R.Q. Hunter in 1955.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marley (Martha) Styner, Palestine; son, Dr. Rush Quinn Hunter, Jr., Laguna Beach, Calif; one grandchild, ; and two great grandchildren.
