Mrs. C. C. Nacke Dies; Funeral Services Friday

SCHUYLER, Oct. 27 (Special) - Mrs. C. C. Nacke, 89, mother of Very Rev. Clement Jerry Nacke, pastor of the St. Augustine Catholic Church at Schuyler, died at St. Mary's hospital of Columbus at 1 a.m. Tuesday following a stroke of apoplexy. Ten days ago, she fell in her home and dislocated her shoulder. She had been in the hospital since then.

Funeral services will be held at Hebron at 10 a.m. Friday with burial in the cemetery at Hebron. The rosary will be recited at the Bideaux Chapel at 8 p.m. this evening. The body will be taken to Hebron Thursday.

As Elizabeth Rogge (sic), she was born at West Point, la., on Oct. 17, 1859. She grew to womanhood there and on Oct. 21, 1878, she and Mr. Nacke were united in marriage. They came to Hebron in 1906. Mrs. Nacke resided there until three years ago when she came to Schuyler to make her home with her son, Rev. Nacke.

Mrs. Nacke is survived by four sons, Very Rev. Clement J. Nacke, V. F. of Schuyler, and Herman, Albert and William all of Hebron; three daughters, Mrs. G. S. Von Derhaar of Hebron, Miss Elizabeth Nacke of Schuyler and Mrs. C. E. Helfrich of Portland, Ore., 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1907, five sons and one daughter.

Mrs. Elizabeth Nacke Died Tuesday Morning In Columbus Hospital

Mrs. Elizabeth Nacke, 89, mother of the Very Rev. Clement, J. Nacke, V. F., died at St. Marys hospital in Columbus Tuesday morning at 1:40. Mrs. Nacke suffered a dislocation of her left shoulder in a fall Tuesday of last week and was taken to the hospital. She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage Thursday morning of last week and was paralyzed since that time. Rev. Nacke arrived home Sunday from his trip abroad and was with his mother at the time of her death.

Elizabeth Pogge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pogge, was born at Fort Madison, la., Oct. 17, 1859. She and Conrad C. Nacke were married at West Point, la., Oct. 21, 1878. They lived at West Point until 1907 when they moved to Hebron when they resided nearly 43 years. Mr. Nacke died at Hebron July 11, 1907. Mrs. Nacke and her daughter, Miss Elizabeth Nacke, came to Schuyler with Rev. Nacke in June, 1945.

Mrs. Nacke was the mother of 13 children, seven of whom survive. They are the Very Rev. Clement J. Nacke, V. F., of Schuyler, Herman, Albert and William Nacke, Mrs. G. S. Vonderhaas, all of Hebron, Miss Elizabeth Nacke of Schuyler, and Mrs. C. E. Helfrich of Portland, Ore. Seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

The rosary was recited at the Bideaux chapel Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock. The remains were taken to Hebron this Thursday morning. Funeral rites will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Hebron Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be made in the. parish cemetery at Hebron.
