Horace lived in Manchester all his life. He worked for many years for his life-long friend, Tom McCann, at McCann's Service Station & then at ABA Tool & Die, both in Manchester. Unfortunately, Horace was one of the people in town to contract Polio as a child, so was somewhat limited in what he could do physically. He enjoyed his tractors, gardening & new Chevys. He was a wonderful Uncle to his nieces & nephews, who called him 'Unk'. He had two brothers listed below & one sister.

He was descended from Mayflower passengers Bradford & Brewster. Ancestors Governor Thomas Prence, Simon Newcomb & Deborah Buell Newcomb + others lived on Cape Cod. Also in his lineage was Bartholomew Snow, who participated in the War of 1812; Revolutionary War soldiers included Hamilton Grant, Ephraim Parker & Matthew Smith. He was also descended from Thomas Hungerford, one of the people to settle Hartford, CT in 1636.
