Melda Caroline Williamson, 82, of Austin, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003 at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin.
She was born May 20, 1921, in the Corning area, to Thomas and Anna (Thompson) Braaten.
On Nov. 22, 1941, she married Gerald Williamson.
A lifelong Austin resident, Melda was employed by Hormel Foods for 47 years. She was a member of Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church and was active in the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her son, Jerry (Sally) Williamson, Hayward, Wis.; three grandsons; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice (Sylvester) Thompson, Corning; Netta (Arley) Hutson, Austin; Ann (Floyd) Hemingway, Missoula, Mont.; brother, George (Edna) Braaten, Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, several brothers and sisters.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 19, 2003, at the funeral home and Thursday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, rural Austin, with the Rev. Bruce Falksen officiating.
Interment: Red Oak Grove Lutheran Cemetery.
