William Amerson Brantley, died, Friday morning, February 4, following a long illness. He was principal of the Sunflower Elementary school. He was 52.
Services were held Saturday morning at the Sunflower Methodist church with the Rev. G. S. Maxey and Rev. L. J. Crumby officiating. Burial was in the Canton cemetery with the Coleman Funeral Home of Indianola in charge of arrangements.
Born in Montgomery County, he received his education at the Mississippi Southern College and State College. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Sunflower. He was a Mason and a Rotarian.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Robbie Thomas Brantley; two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Dickerson, and Rebecca Brantley; a son, Bill Brantley, all of Sunflower; his mother, Mrs. W. A. Brantley, of Kilmichael; three brothers, R. R. Brantley of Weir, J. Calvin Brantley of Cleveland and T. V. Brantley of Kilmichael; and one sister, Mrs. D. M. Coats of Columbia, Miss.
