He was born January 4, 1930 in Winston County, Alabama to Earlie William Cornelius and Annie Angeline Gunter Cornelius. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the State of Alabama Road Department and later, the Winston County Road Department. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 11am-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held at 2pm. Reverend Chris Riddle will officiate. Burial will be at Cornelius Family Cemetery on County Road 55 in Ashridge.
He is survived by his sons, Bennie W. (Rita) Cornelius, Johnny R. (Linda) Cornelius, Harold B. (Maria) Cornelius, Harlan J. Cornelius; sisters, Ruth Barnes, Betty (Jimmy) Martin, Christene (Junior) Rice; he was Paw Paw to nine grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Cornelius; parents, Earlie and Annie Cornelius; and grandson, Jeremy Bryan Cornelius
