Ardis Mae Bartole, 92, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 in Lake Havasu City. She was born in Van Hook, N.D., Aug. 19, 1920, to Gus and Mabel Sather.
She was introduced to Anton ‘Bud' Bartole, the love of her life, in 1946, and they were married that same year. Their 67 years together is telling of their unconditional and profound love for one another.
They moved to Vancouver, Wash., in 1949, where they raised their children and lived for 40 years.
They joined the Salmon Creek United Methodist Church in 1950, where Ardis Mae served as choir director and played the organ for 15 years. Her desire was to be at home with their children while they were growing up and she dedicated herself to raising them.
Ardis Mae was a devoted and loving wife, an unfailing and adored mother and grandmother, and a loyal and respected friend.
She is survived by identical twin daughters, Judie and Julie; and grandchildren, Matthew, Calle and Ben. Ardis Mae was preceded in death by their son, Grady, at the age of 20 in 1972; and her husband, Bud, in April of this year.
Visitation will be at Lake Havasu Mortuary Chapel, 2225 N. Kiowa Blvd., Friday, from 10-11 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Veteran Angels Inc., www.vetanglels.org.
