Ettar Pearl (Carroll) Smith, 84, of Westfield, Ind., formerly of Marmaduke, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at her home.

She was born Jan. 20, 1918, in Stonewall Ark. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and enjoyed her family, gardening and serving the Lord.

Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law, William E. Smith of Marmaduke, Leon and Lois Smith of Paragould, DeWayne and Joyce Smith of Paragould and Kevin Smith of Westfield, Ind., five daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and William Ressler of Carmel, Ind., Judy and Rod Dennis of Jonesboro, Ind., Shela and James Weesner of Westfield, Ind., Wanda and Windle Thompson of Somerset, Ky., Melonie and Rick Smelser of Paragould, 15 grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Smith, two infant sons, Wesley and Odell, and by two grandsons, Tracy Thompson and Cody Smelser.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Paragould with Dr. Rod and Judy Dennis officiating. Burial was in New Liberty Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould in charge of arrangements.
