BADALAMENT, Grace D., age 83 of Bloomfield Hills, died August 10, 2013. Grace was born April 5, 1930 in Dearborn, MI to Grace Costello and grew up in Detroit. Grace was an extremely talented dancer and performer in her youth. Tap dancing and ballet were her specialties. Grace used her talents to support her family, which included 13 children, after her father suffered serious injury. She worked in Hollywood as a child actor, and appeared in over 20 movies and TV shows, including Hal Roach's Little Rascals. She also worked for MGM from 1940-1949. Edward Small was her agent. She honed her skills in Detroit under the instruction of some of the most renowned teachers: Willabee Bouton for piano and Casey Thompson for dancing. Grace also danced with other well-known performers such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Nat King Cole. Grace was also the first American to win the famous Ballets Russes.

Grace lived with her husband, Louis, and their family in Detroit and Bloomfield Hills. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and was the nucleus of the family. She also had a great sense of humor, and could be described as the life of the party. She will always be remembered as the "World's Greatest". Grace would say her faith was the most important thing in her life as she always taught her family to put God as their first priority. She had a life-long devotion to the Carmelites, and regularly said the Rosary. She was a parishioner of St. Regis Catholic Church in Bloomfield Hills. Grace was the beloved wife of Louis for 64 years, loving mother of Michael (Rita), Robert (Providence), Terri, Thomas, Mark (Brenda), and Stephen, devoted grandmother of Louis Francis, Peter, Grace (Brian), Therese (Peter), Louis Michael, Katherine, Reagan, Mary Rose, Isabella, and Blaise, great-grandmother of Providence. Sister of Rose Costello (late Sam), and Faye Cilibraise (late Russ) and four deceased siblings. She was also the dearest friend of Emma Goudy.

Family will receive friends Tuesday 2-9 pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd. (btw Maple & Big Beaver), Troy, 248-362-2500 with Rosary 7:00 pm. Funeral mass Wednesday 1:00 pm at St. Regis Catholic Church, 3695 Lincoln Dr., Bloomfield Hills. Memorial tributes to St. Regis Catholic Church.
