Charlotte Thacker Bales, 63, of Chattanooga, TN, died on August 8, 2013 at her daughter's house in Decatur, TN.

She had lived most of her life in Chattanooga, TN where she retired in 1982 from the city as a bus driver. She was a member of the Assembly of God and was also a Sunday School teacher. Her passions in life were dancing, having fun, cooking and Elvis Pressley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dewey Bales, Sr.; father, Arthur William Thacker, Sr.; and brother, Steve Thacker.

Survivors include her children, Marissa Pellam and Miranda Bales, both of Decatur; brothers and sisters, Pat Thacker, Kathy Lively, Billy Thacker, Jr., Brenda Brewer, Kenny Thacker, and Tommy Thacker; three grandchildren, Ariel Braddam, Cadi Braddam, and Cheyenne Bales; two great-grandchildren, Hollie Jones and Kylie Braddam; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville, GA.
