Isaac was born to John Klackner and Anna Weyer Kleckner in Lafayette, New Jersey, in 1792. He moved with his parents to Union County, Pennsylvania, around 1797. He married Anna Keister b: 1795 and had 5 children with her before her death in 1827: Son Kleckner 1817; Solomon 1819; Lydia in 1821; Levi in 1822 and Benjamin in 1824. After Anna Keister's death in 1827, Isaac married Anna's sister Elizabeth Keister and they had two more children, Sarah in 1831 and John in 1837 before Elizabeth died in 1838.

Isaac served alongside his brother Abraham Kleckner in the War of 1812, enlisting as a Private, Second Brigade, Second Division of the Pennsylvania Militia under the command of Captain Henry Miller and Lieutenant Colonel George Weirick.

After the loss of his second wife Elizabeth, Isaac moved his family from Pennsylvania in 1839 to the tiny village of Oneco, Illinois, very close to the Wisconsin border and was elected to the office of Road Commissioner. He farmed in the Eastern half of the township.

In about 1850, the family moved for the last time to nearby Monroe, Wisconsin, where on May 14th, 1877, Isaac died.
