Walter A. Mills, 77, of Vass, N.C., formerly of West Salem, passed away Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital in Southern Pine, N.C.

He is survived by his former wife, Mrs. Mabel Mills, of West Salem; two sons, James W. Mills of Vass, N.C. and Robert Stanhope Mills of Johannsburg, South Africa; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel McDowell of West Salem and Mrs. Drucella Copley of St. Louis, Mo.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the King & Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem, with interment in the Moravian Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today.
