Willis Spring, Monroe, Dies

MONTICELLO — Willis I. Spring, 48, Monroe, died Thursday (Aug. 19,1971) in a Monroe hospital after a long illness.

He married the former Sue Baker in 1952. They farmed near Rochelle, Illinois, and near Monticello, before moving to Monroe in 1958. Mr. Spring ran the Hill Top Inn in Monroe until selling the business in 1968. He then worked for the Rees Construction Co.

Surviving in Madison is a son, Duane, 2214 Rosenberry Rd. Also surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Milton Babler, Monticello; and Linda, at home; another son, Dwight, Belleville; his mother, Mrs. Harry Hart, Humbird; two stepchildren, Michael Herrmann, Sparta; and Carol Herrmann, Dubuque, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Fred Zurfluh, Monticello; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello. Friends may call from 4 to 9 tonight at the church's Memorial Lounge.
