Deceased Name: Mary Sorensen, 93, retired waitress
Mary Sorensen, 95, a longtime resident of Brookfield, died April 5, 2012 at her home.
Ms. Sorensen worked for 30 years as a waitress at Lagori's Restaurant, formerly located on Grand Boulevard, in Brookfield. She retired in 1991, when she was in her 70s. She also enjoyed sewing, walking and tending to her home and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Sorensen, and her son, Ralph C. Sorensen Jr.
Ms. Sorensen is survived by her son, Anthony (Janice) Sorensen; her daughters, Nancy (the late Sam) Mottlow and Margaret (Rich) Ciborowski; her daughter-in-law, Sandy Sorensen; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield on April 10, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association or St. Thomas Hospice, 119 E. Ogden Ave., Suite 111, Hinsdale, Ill. 60521-3590.
