Wildon Earl Ross, age 91 years, of Biloxi, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

Mr. Ross was born in Biloxi where he remained a lifelong resident. He was a US Navy Veteran who served during WWII. He owned and operated Yellow Cab Company in Biloxi for 60 years. Mr. Ross was a member of the Galloping Gales, a semi pro football team in Biloxi during the 1950's. He sponsored and coached numerous youth sports teams and adult bowling teams. His greatest enjoyment came from fishing with a cast net, which he did almost daily. Mr. Ross was a past Commander of the VFW Post #2434 and a life member of the Biloxi Elk's Lodge #606. He was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi.

Mr. Ross is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Ruth Wallis Ross (1929-1998); parents, Captain Amos Ross and Sophie Duggan Ross; brothers, Elwood and Willis D. Ross; and sisters, Alice Barrilleaux and Evelyn Allen.

Survivors include his two sons, Earl Wildon Ross (Charlene), Wallis "Wally" Glenn Ross (Toni); grandchildren, Johneen Ross, Brent Ross, Matthew Ross (Ashley), Justin Ross, Nikki Lynn Ross; great granddaughter, Avery; brothers, John "Lindy" Ross (Roselyn), Ernest "Sonny" Ross (Helen) and George Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Southern Memorial Park. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
