HANNIBAL - Mary Ellen Jennings Whitecotton, 93, of Frankford, died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Beth Haven in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, at Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Steve Barker will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, March 18, at Grand View Funeral Home.
Mrs. Whitecotton was born on Jan. 13, 1915, the daughter of Henry Rarden and Ida McQuary Rarden.
She married Ether Bert Jennings in 1930 in Aurora, Ill., and he preceded her in death in 1964. She later married Francis M. Whitecotton in 1966 in Hannibal, and he also preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1977.
She was survived by her son, Delmar (Darlene) Jennings of Curryville; her daughters, Margie A. Terry of Farber, Lellia W. Ince of Bowling Green, Jeannette (Ozark) Bailey of Frankford, Earlene F. Jennings of Curryville, and Mary Sue (Larry) Taylor of Hannibal; and her half-sister, Frances Jennings of Bowling Green. She was also survived by her 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death also by her parents; her sons, Ether Bert Jennings Jr. and Marion C. Jennings; her brother, William "Bud" Rarden; her sisters, Amazella Meyer and Ethel VanBuskirk; her grandsons, Paul Leon Terry, Terry W. Ince and Delmar "Pete" Jennings; and her great-grandson, Dustin England.
She worked for several years as a seamstress at the garment factory in Bowling Green. She was a member of the Peno Baptist Church near Frankford. She loved to sew and crochet, and enjoyed making quilts.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Taylor, Jeff Terry, Rob Taylor, Shane Jennings, Chris Walraven and Travis Terry.
Memorials maybe made to the Beth Haven Alzheimer's Unit.
